House fire sees eight evacuated One person dies after house fire

Fire crews are tackling a blaze at a house in Brecon which broke out in the attic space. One person has died after a fire broke out at in the attic space of a terraced house in Brecon, Powys.
Mid and West Wales Fire Service said eight people have been evacuated from the Orchard Street property due to fears the fire may spread to others. Four adults and four children had to be evacuated from neighbouring houses in Orchard Street to the local leisure centre but have now gone home.
The fire, which started just before 0500 BST, has been described as "quite serious" and is still not under control. The fire, which started just before 0500 BST, is now out.
Up to 18 firefighters with a thermal imaging camera are at the scene. The road has been closed while investigations are carried out by Mid and West Wales Fire and Rescue Service and Dyfed-Powys Police.
