For some, life has continued more or less as normal in St Ives, Cornwall, this week. Tourists bought fish and chips, and locals took their paddle boards out for a spin. But there is one key difference: the town and the neighbouring village of Carbis Bay are hosting some of the world's most powerful leaders for the G7 summit of advanced economies. The G7 summit will see the leaders of Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, the US and UK gathering in person for the first time since the pandemic. Ahead of the summit, British Prime Minister Boris Johnson and wife Carrie met US President Joe Biden and First Lady Jill Biden. After the meeting, Mr Johnson told the BBC the alliance between the US and the UK should be known as the "indestructible relationship".
