The 27-year-old, an inmate at Wormwood Scrubs prison, in west London, was arrested by police in Docklands, east London, on Friday. Farnan, 27, will be moved from Wormwood Scrubs prison to the high security Belmarsh Prison in south-east London.
A police spokeswoman would not say at which court he would appear. He is due to appear at Southwark Crown Court on 5 April.
The spokeswoman said a woman in her 20s who was arrested in connection with the investigation has been released on bail until March. Farnan was arrested by police in Docklands, east London, on Friday.

Farnan was surrounded by armed police when appeared at the City of Westminster Magistrate's Court.
His solicitor declined to enter a plea and did not file an application for bail.
