Teen still critical after attack Man faces attempted murder charge

A teenager remains critically ill in hospital after being attacked in west Belfast. A 24-year-old man is due to appear in court on Monday charged with attempted murder.
It is understood the charge relates to an attack which left a teenager critically ill on Friday.

It is understood he was attacked by several people who got out of a car at a lay-by at about 0230 BST on Friday. He is said to be critical but stable. The accused will appear at Laganside Magistrates Court.

On Saturday, PSNI scenes of crime officers examined a 100-metre stretch of footpath, close to the junction with the Springfield and Whiterock roads.
Sinn Fein's Janice Austin said people in the area were shocked.
"He (the victim) seems to be very well known in the area. The community is very annoyed that a young person on a night out was attacked," she said.
The young man is said to be critically ill but stable.
A police spokesman appealed for anyone who was in the area at the time or who witnessed the attack to contact them.
