Postman bitten by lurking adder
http://news.bbc.co.uk/go/rss/-/1/hi/england/somerset/8022429.stm Version 0 of 1. A postman received a nasty shock when he was bitten by an adder which was inside a pillar box he was emptying. Alan Wakley had his painful encounter with the snake at Brean Cove, Somerset. Mr Wakley, 58, said he did not require hospital treatment as he sucked the poison out of his hand himself. He compared the pain to a bad bee sting. Although the adder slithered away after the attack, the postbox, which is next to Brean Cove Cafe, has been closed as a precaution. Mr Wakley, of Berrow, received deep puncture marks to his hand from the bite. |
