17,000 to take part in marathon Mutai claims marathon hat-trick

The Belfast marathon has got under way from the city centre, setting a new record for runners taking part. Kenyan athlete John Mutai has completed a hat-trick of victories in the Belfast marathon.
More than 17,000 people are participating - 2,000 more than last year. The 42-year-old finished the race in a time of 2 hours 17 minutes and 35 seconds.
Looking for a hat-trick will be Kenya's John Mutai, who has won it for the last two years A record number of 17,000 people are participating in the race, which is 2,000 more than took part in last year's event.
