Seventeen-year-old Wendy McAteer was found murdered on a path running between two schools in Limavady in November 2007.

The teenager had been strangled and badly beaten, sustaining serious head injuries.
She had been kicked and punched and received some blows while lying on the ground. She had lain unconscious for about half an hour before she died.
Her brother Paul found her body on Backburn Path, which runs between Limavady High School and St Mary's High School, which Wendy had left that summer.
The prosecution said that Whiting had effectively left Wendy McAteer to die in an alleyway after inflicting multiple injuries.
The court heard that Whiting had gone home after he carried out the attack and changed out of his blood-stained clothes.
He took his bank-book and other belongings and tried to get accommodation in a local hotel.
In sentencing, the judge described the murder as "brutal, senseless, inexcusable and inexplicable", adding that Whiting had killed a defenceless teenager.
