“The production of ‘green’ hydrogen is promising for the region. Hydrogen production of up to 30,000 tons per year is planned to be reached in 2025. The commissioning of the second and third plants with production of additional 70,000 tons of hydrogen per year is planned by 2030,” Sakhalin Governor Valery Limarenko told TASS on the sidelines of the Eastern Economic Forum (EEF), currently underway in Vladivostok, Russia.“The production of ‘green’ hydrogen is promising for the region. We signed the first agreement with the Japanese in 2019, and during this time we worked out a preliminary feasibility study for organizing a hydrogen supply chain from Russia to Japan. Sakhalin was considered a key site,” Moskvin said.
