A 27-year-old Belfast pool attendant who pleaded guilty to spying on women in the changing rooms where he worked has been jailed for three years. Neil Jamison, of Locksley Park, also pleaded guilty to 15 charges relating to videos and images of child abuse. He also admitted numerous counts of voyeurism and one of attempted voyeurism for sexual gratification. The judge said he would have given him a longer sentence had it not been for parliamentary guidelines. Jamison, who appeared at Craigavon Crown Court, admitted a total of 15 charges relating to more than 69 videos and numerous pictures of child abuse on dates between November 2005 and December 2007. He pleaded guilty to a further 17 counts of voyeurism and one of attempted voyeurism to obtain sexual gratification on dates between 30 March 1999 and 18 June last year. The offences came to light last June when a girl in a changing cubicle at Lagan Valley Leisureplex noticed someone pointing a mobile phone at her from above. She was able to identify Jamison, who was later arrested. During follow-up interviews, he admitted he had been filming customers and colleagues at the centre for a number of years. The recordings were found by police during searches at his home. Officers also found images of child abuse he had downloaded from the internet. Jamison will serve two years for the pornography offences and one year for the voyeurism charges. |
