A British soldier who lived in Belfast has died of gunshot wounds in southern Afghanistan.A British soldier who lived in Belfast has died of gunshot wounds in southern Afghanistan.
The Ministry of Defence said the soldier was with the Black Watch 3rd Battalion, The Royal Regiment of Scotland. He was 22-year-old Cpl Sean Binnie, who was originally from the Republic of Irleand.

Next of kin have been informed. The Army said it was a "great loss". He was with the Black Watch 3rd Battalion, The Royal Regiment of Scotland.
Cpl Binnie's wife, Amanda, in a statement published on the Ministry of Defence website, said: "My husband, my hero - you have been so strong and brave.
"Our married life has been a short six months and I'm speaking for both of us in saying it was the best six months ever.
