Hunt is on for new Jamie trainees

The search starts on Wednesday for the second intake of young trainee chefs for Fifteen Cornwall.

Twenty one students have already been trained by chefs at Jamie Oliver's restaurant at Watergate Bay near Newquay, which opened in May.

The profits pay for the training and development of the youngsters.

Up to 30 students, including reserves, will be selected. They will start at Cornwall College in January and start in the kitchen in May 2007.

The 100-seater restaurant, which also has a 12-seater private dining area, is Oliver's latest Fifteen project.

Oliver launched his first Fifteen restaurant in London four years ago with the aim of helping disadvantaged youngsters make a start in life.

His first opened in Shoreditch, east London, after the nation followed its trials in a Channel 4 TV series.

Since then he has opened another in Amsterdam, and a fourth is due to open in Melbourne, Australia, in September.
