Jharkhand's government wins vote

The new United Progressive Alliance government, led by chief minister Madhu Koda, secured the votes of 41 legislators in the 82-member house. The previous National Democratic Alliance government, headed by Arjun Munda, resigned after losing its majority earlier this month. Tribal Jharkhand has a history of political uncertainty. |
