Det Ch Insp Alan Edwards described the death of Mr Hemming as a "sad development". | |
"At the present time our enquiries are ongoing as we attempt to gather evidence that will help us piece together the exact cause of this distressing incident," he said. | |
"With that in mind I would once again like to appeal to anyone with information about the incident to come forward. | |
"We remain eager to trace anyone who saw or heard anything suspicious around the time of the fire or anyone who may have information relating to it." | |
Neighbours were also overcome with the effects of smoke as they tried to rescue the family. | |
