Man remanded over arson killing

A man has been remanded in custody charged with the murder of a three-year-old girl who died after an alleged arson attack on her Liverpool home.

Francesca Bimpson was severely burnt at the house in Everton last December and died in hospital three weeks later.

Graham Heaps, of Newport, south Wales, is charged with murder, five counts of attempted murder and arson with intent.

Mr Heaps appeared before Liverpool magistrates on Friday and is due before Liverpool Crown Court on the 24 June.

Francesca's mother, father, brother and two sisters escaped the blaze.
