Climber dies after mountain fall

A 26-year-old man has died after a fall while climbing on the Aonach Eagach ridge in Glencoe.

Northern Constabulary said a local mountain rescue team was alerted to the incident at about 1820 BST on Saturday.

A Royal Navy helicopter was used to locate the casualty who police said died at the scene.

A report will be sent to the procurator fiscal at Fort William but police said there did not appear to be any suspicious circumstances.
