Four people critically injured in a suspected arson attack in south-west London have been identified as members of the same family. City banker Zain Masud, 22, and his mother Rubina, 53, jumped from a first-floor window of the house in Tooting when the fire started early on Sunday. Mr Masud, his sisters Nabiha, 21, and Maleha, 15, and brother Junaid, 16, are in a critical condition in hospital. The Metropolitan Police have appealed for any witnesses. The London Fire Brigade was called to the property in Lessingham Avenue at 0435 BST on Sunday. Det Insp Graeme Gwyn from the Homicide and Serious Crime Command said: "Lessingham Avenue is a quiet residential street. "However, people may have been returning from a night out or setting off on their way to work and they may have seen someone acting suspiciously." |
