Version 0 of 1.

Ex-prime minister Baroness Thatcher is feeling "much, much better" and is expected to leave hospital at the weekend, her secretary has said.

She has been in hospital after breaking her arm on 12 June and has had a pin inserted to assist the healing process.

Her personal secretary said it was anticipated that she would be discharged on Sunday.

Lady Thatcher's daughter Carol is expected to pay her a visit at London's Chelsea and Westminster Hospital.

Public appearances

Lady Thatcher, 83, who was prime minister between 1979 and 1990, has become increasingly frail in recent years and has suffered a number of minor strokes.

Carol Thatcher has also spoken about her mother's struggle with dementia.

In March last year Baroness Thatcher spent the night in hospital after feeling unwell while having dinner with friends.

Ill health forced her to abandon her regular public speaking engagements in 2002 but she still makes public appearances.
