Dozens of people were evacuated from a sports centre when torrential rain caused part of the roof to collapse.

One person was slightly injured after being hit by a falling light at the JJB Soccer Dome in Haslingden Road, Blackburn, on Saturday.

Fire crews helped move people to safety as the building's drainage system failed to cope with the downpour, causing ceilings to cave in.

Structural engineers were expected to carry out an assessment on Sunday.
