Two arrested over ear-rip attack

The 45-year-old woman's ear was badly ripped and had to be glued back together in hospital. The victim was attacked by two of the men at Rackhams Corner in Lowestoft, Suffolk when she refused to hand over her car keys. A 17-year-old boy and a 22-year-old man were arrested in Gorleston, Norfolk, and taken to Lowestoft police station. The men ran off after the attack, which happened at 0500 BST, when they realised she had called police. Police said the woman was driving on the A12 when she was overtaken by four men in a Vauxhall Corsa. Ear glued together Shortly afterwards she saw the Corsa on fire at a roundabout. The woman stopped to help but one of the men then demanded her car keys. When she refused she was attacked and dragged from her car by two of the men before managing to break free and run off. The four men stole her handbag before making off on foot. A police spokeswoman said the woman was taken to the James Paget Hospital in Gorleston, where her ear was glued together. Police are appealing for anyone with information to contact them. |
