A 34-year-old woman will appear before magistrates in Newport later charged with murdering a four-year-old girl. A 34-year-old woman has been remanded in custody for her own protection after appearing before magistrates charged with the murder of her daughter.

Paul Latner, prosecuting, asked that Ms David be remanded in custody for her own protection.
