The jury in the trial of Peter Tobin, who is accused of killing an 18-year-old woman in Essex, has been discharged due to his illness. A new date has been fixed for the trial of Peter Tobin who is accused of killing an 18-year-old woman in Essex.
The defendant, 62, is on trial at Chelmsford Crown Court in Essex accused of the murder of Dinah McNicol. Tobin, 62, of Renfrewshire, Scotland, denies murdering Dinah McNicol who disappeared in the summer of 1991. Her remains were discovered in 2007.
Tobin, of Renfrewshire, Scotland, denies murdering Miss McNicol. His trial at Chelmsford Crown Court was halted after the judge Mr Justice Calvert-Smith told the court Tobin had shingles with "complications".
The trial was adjourned last week after the defendant was diagnosed with shingles. No date has been set for an new trial. Lawyers said a new trial date had been fixed for 14 December.
