Investigation after man shot dead Man shot dead in surgery car park

A man has been shot dead in Greater Manchester. A 21-year-old man has been shot dead in the car park of a doctor's surgery in Greater Manchester.
Police officers were called to Block Lane in the Chadderton area of Oldham just after midnight and found a man with gunshot wounds. Junaid Khan suffered wounds to his leg and groin when he was shot in Block Lane, Chadderton, just after midnight.
The victim, whose name has not been released by police, was taken to hospital for treatment but later died. He was taken to the Royal Oldham Hospital, where his sister works as a doctor, but died a short time later.
A car believed to be linked to the incident was found in a car park just off Broadway, Chadderton, and had been set on fire. His father, shopkeeper Mumtaz Khan, 60, said: "I was so proud of him, this is a great loss for the family which will never be replaced."
Block Lane has been closed at Oxford Street and Cornwall Street. Greater Manchester Police said their investigation was in its "very early stages".
A Greater Manchester Police spokesman said: "The investigation is still in the very early stages and more information will be released when known." 'Gang problems'
A silver Mitsubishi 4x4, believed to be linked to the incident, was found set on fire in a car park around half-a-mile away.
Junaid Khan worked in his father's shop, near to where he was shot.
"I think he was a very good lad," Mr Khan said.
"His mother's heart is broken.
"I am so hurt about it. I don't know whether I will be able to pass the time without him."
Mr Khan, who lives above the shop with his wife Taj Mahal, was first alerted to the shooting by two customers banging on the shutters.

Mr Khan said: "The doctor said he had not been shot in the chest. They shot him in the legs and he lost a lot of blood at the scene so they could not save him."
He has two other sons, the eldest Imtiaz and Aowais, 16, and two daughters, Reheela, 29, a doctor and Shabana, 27.
Other residents in the area spoke well of the victim but said the area suffered problems with gangs.
It is the second fatal shooting in less than a week in Greater Manchester.
Nasar Hussain, 30, was shot six times while working in a shop in Salford on Saturday night.
