A series of security alerts have disrupted rush-hour traffic in Belfast and Londonderry. A series of security alerts have caused traffic disruption in Belfast and Londonderry.
In north Belfast, a suspect van was examined at the Cityside retail park. Nothing suspicious was found. Traffic diversions have been lifted. One alert in Derry is continuing and a controlled explosion has been carried out on the Craigavon bridge.
An alert near Central Station has also ended. Army bomb experts examined a van but nothing suspicious was found. The upper and lowers decks of the bridge remain closed and police are still in the area.
In Londonderry, both decks of the Craigavon Bridge were closed after a suspicious van was discovered. An earlier alert in Donegall Lane in Belfast city centre was a deliberate hoax and alerts in north Belfast and at Central Station have ended.
In Belfast city centre, roads near Donegall Lane were cordoned off after a suspicious bag was found on Friday afternoon. Army bomb experts called to the scenes found nothing suspicious.
