Version 0 of 1.

A man from Londonderry has been remanded in custody following the seizure of £2m worth of drugs.

Police found eight kilograms of heroin and 210,000 suspected ecstasy tablets in a lorry in Londonderry on Saturday.

Sean Doherty, 41, from Cornshell Fields, was charged with possessing Class A drugs with intent to supply.

Anthony Morgan, 27, and Sarah Greene, 24, of Eaton Green, Dublin, were also remanded to appear before Londonderry Magistrates Court on July 23.

The couple from Dublin deny being concerned in the supply of drugs.

Police said the heroin and ecstasy tablets had a potential street value of £2m.

A police officer told Magherafelt Magistrates Court that "telephone traffic between the defendants was currently being examined".

He said the three defendants had agreed to meet at a lay-by in Campsie but because of bad lighting there they decided to go to another location.

Police stopped two vehicles on the Foyle Bridge at 0100 BST on Saturday.
