Rev Mervyn Gibson, who conducted the service at the County Down demonstration, said: "The main demonstration was over and the districts were leaving the field.
"I would say half the districts had left the field when the parade was stopped and it soon became apparent there had been an accident.
"One of the official cars had crashed into a band and basically that's as much as people know, and we know sadly the outcome."
William Dick, chairman of Down District Council, and a member of the lodge the band was attached to, said the "freak accident" had left the local community in shock.
"She (Ms Jordan) was from a very respected family within the community and there is a terrible sense of shock," he said. |
