NI leaders hold talks with Brown

The first and deputy first ministers are to have talks with the prime minister in London later on the devolution of policing and justice.

Peter Robinson and Martin McGuinness will meet Gordon Brown in Downing Street.

They are hoping Mr Brown will able to outline the budget for policing and justice once it has been devolved.

Before the meeting they are to meet the chief secretary of the Treasury over the Presbyterian Mutual Society.

On Tuesday, a working group involving officials from London and Belfast had its first meeting.

The group set up by the prime minister is trying to come up with a series of proposals to help the thousands of Presbyterians who lost money when the society shut down last autumn.

The group is expected to report back in September.
