Officers have released CCTV images of a man they are searching for A man has been arrested on suspicion of abducting a seven-year-old girl in Greater Manchester.
A man suspected of abducting a seven-year-old girl from a street before taking her into woods is wanted by police. Police believe the girl was taken into woods in Droylsden and sexually assaulted in a van at about 16:00 BST on Wednesday.
The child was snatched from Warne Road in Droylsden, Greater Manchester, and taken to woodland near a former railway track at about 16:00 BST on Wednesday. She was re-united with her family shortly after.
Greater Manchester Police said she was later reunited with her family. Detectives have also released CCTV images of a second man they want to speak to who they say was acting suspiciously in the area at the time.
Officers have released images of the man they are searching for. Anyone with information should contact the force. The girl is believed to have been taken by a man on Warne Avenue and into a wooded area near to a disused railway track towards Manchester Road, police said.
There was a large police presence in the area while inquiries continued. After being taken to a van where she was sexually assaulted, she was taken back to the woods and found her own way to a nearby park.
Police said they have arrested a 35-year-old man who has been taken into custody for questioning.
A search is continuing regarding a second man who the police want to urgently talk to. If the public see the man, they are asked to call 999.
The force added they were supporting the family.
