Officers were called to the Greengate area of the Gwynedd town at 1302 BST. It is understood that the alarm was raised by a member of the public in the area. The scene has been cordoned off while an investigation gets under way. Police have yet to release any further details about the death. Forensic teams are at the site in a public car parking area that backs on to a number of cafes and restaurants in the town. The scene is only 50m (55yds) from the walls of the medieval castle, which is where the investiture of Prince Charles as the Prince of Wales took place 40 years ago. The pay-and-display car park is popular with both visitors and local people, sited so close to the castle and also the town's shops and restaurants. |
