A man has been charged with murder after six people were found dead in the US states of Tennessee and Alabama. A man has been charged with murder in the US state of Tennessee after his wife and several of her relatives were found shot dead.
Jacob Shaffer, 30, was arrested after five bodies were found in Fayetteville, about 90 miles (145km) south of Nashville, Tennessee, on Saturday. Jacob Shaffer, 30, was arrested at one of two homes where he allegedly shot his victims near Fayetteville.
Another body was found in Huntsville, Alabama. Police said the victims were four adults and two juveniles. Along with the body of his wife, police discovered the remains of her son, her brother, her father and a neighbour.

Five of the bodies were found at two neighbouring homes in the town of Fayetteville. She named the victims at the rural homes near Fayetteville as Mr Shaffer's wife Traci, 38; her son, 16-year-old Devin Brooks; her brother, Chris Hall, 34; her father Billy Hall, 57; and neighbour Robert Berber, 16.
The sixth was found at a business in Huntsville, in neighbouring Alabama, police said. Lincoln County Sheriff Murray Blackwelder described the killings as "horrendous".
Mr Shaffer was found sitting on the porch of one of the two houses in Fayetteville. Mr Shaffer has been remanded in custody.
