The heads of British Airways and the Transport & General Workers Union are meeting in efforts to avert next week's two-day strike by cabin crew. The heads of British Airways and the Transport & General Workers Union have ended talks, aimed at averting strikes, without comment on Thursday evening.
BA's chief executive Willie Walsh and T&G boss Tony Woodley are holding "private talks" at an undisclosed location. The last-ditch talks came in the hope of heading off next week's two-day strike by cabin crew.
BA will not be making any comment on what was discussed until Friday, while T&G boss Tony Woodley will meet cabin crew representative in the morning.

BA said it was "deeply sorry" that its customers were innocent victims. The dispute is over pay and sick leave. BBC business correspondent Russel Hayes said he understood that BA has been pushing for the union to agree to go to the arbitration service Acas, something which it has strongly resisted.
'Warning for customers' Mr Hayes said both sides again stressed that they were committed to resolving the dispute before any strike.
The airline said it remained "absolutely determined" to negotiate a settlement with the Transport & General Workers Union (T&G) before next Tuesday. At the same time each is arguing that the other is being unreasonable in the dispute over pay and sick leave.

"It is not too late for the T&G to call off this dispute and we will do all we can to reinstate some of the cancelled fights," said Mr Walsh.
After the breakdown of Wednesday night's talks, T&G deputy general secretary Jack Dromey said that by rejecting the union's proposals BA had "failed to hear the voice of common sense".
But Mr Dromey added that the union's "door remained open".
