Version 0 of 1.

The Church of England's decision to create a service enabling couples to wed, and baptise children at the same time has caused a stir in the press.

The <a class="inlineText" href="http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-1201551/Now-children-baptised-marry-says-Church-England.html">Daily Mail says allowing people to move directly from the altar to the font</a> means that the Church is openly accepting sex before marriage.

As the <a class="inlineText" href="http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/comment/faith/article6723911.ece">Times puts it: The "hatch and match service"</a> is aimed at making peace with families "living in sin".

The Daily Express welcomes the move as a "sensible compromise".

Spy memoirs

The news that the memoirs of the former spy, Anthony Blunt, have been published - 26 years after his death - catches the imagination of several papers.

"The spy who spoke from the grave" is the headline in the Times.

The eminent art historian - exposed as the "fourth man" in an infamous Soviet spy ring - confesses to having made the "biggest mistake of his life".

But the <a class="inlineText" href="http://www.independent.co.uk/news/people/news/the-fourth-man-speaks-last-testimony-of-anthony-blunt-1757483.html">Independent warns that anyone expecting a John Le Carre-style story</a> will be let down by the lack of detail.

Budget chaos

Talk of spending cuts and black holes in the public finances fills some of the front pages.

<a class="inlineText" href="http://www.telegraph.co.uk/education/educationnews/5889812/Education-spending-to-be-cut-by-100m-despite-Gordon-Browns-pledge.html">The Daily Telegraph says £100m is to be lopped off the education budget</a> - the first cut in more than two decades.

Funding for some of Britain's most prestigious arts projects could be in jeopardy because of a <a class="inlineText" href="http://www.guardian.co.uk/culture/2009/jul/22/dcms-culture-department-funding-deficit">£100m black hole in culture budgets, says the Guardian.</a>

Among the projects said to be under threat are the redevelopment of Tate Modern and Stonehenge's visitor centre.

'Bikini-top backlask'

Topless sunbathing - once a woman's right on the beaches of the south of France - has fallen victim to what the <a class="inlineText" href="http://www.guardian.co.uk/lifeandstyle/2009/jul/22/topless-bathing-france">Guardian calls a "bikini-top" backlash.</a>

A new generation of women are now said to be covering up, citing new feminist priorities and fears of skin cancer.

Those sheltering from blustery wind and rain on Britain's beaches will probably want much more than a bikini.

But <a class="inlineText" href="http://www.express.co.uk/posts/view/115747/Cheer-up-90F-heatwave-s-coming-back-next-month">there is cheery news in The Express,</a> which suggests soaring temperatures could return next month.
