The West Midlands force added the event, involving private hire taxis and which lasted from 2200 BST on Friday until 0200 BST on Saturday, was a "dignified display of solidarity and respect for a colleague". It followed Mr Arshad's funeral earlier on Friday, a relative told the BBC.
Brother-in-law Mohammed Sheraz Hussain said the funeral was held at a mosque in Small Heath, Birmingham.
