A teenage boy has been saved from drowning in an early morning incident in Lough Neagh after being spotted by a Volunteer Coastguard. Eddie Magee was staying overnight on his boat at Kinnego marina when he heard a group of youths in distress on Saturday. When he went to investigate, he found a boy with a head wound struggling in the water a short distance for the shore. The boy was so exhausted Mr Magee that had to go into water to help him. "I then tried to coax him into the side but he couldn't understand really, he was that tired and weary and stuff," Mr Magee said. "I ended up going in for him, got him over the side. "He had a big cut on his head he had obviously banged his head on something. He was very confused and disoriented." |
