Airport incident delays flights
http://news.bbc.co.uk/go/rss/-/1/hi/scotland/edinburgh_and_east/8169327.stm Version 0 of 1. Flights to and from Edinburgh Airport were affected after a light aircraft's wing struck the runway as it landed. The incident, which happened at about 1115 BST, involved an ST75 "wing walker" which had taken part in the East Fortune airshow on Saturday. A spokeswoman for BAA said it was forced to close the runway as a result. It reopened just after midday. Two flights coming in were diverted to Glasgow and Prestwick, while three were waiting to take-off. The spokeswoman said the diverted flights were a Ryanair flight from Frankfurt, which went to Prestwick, and a flight from Charles de Gaulle, which landed at Glasgow. |
