Arson badly damages private gym

A fire which badly damaged a private gym early on Sunday morning was begun deliberately, it has been confirmed.

Ed Brookes, owner of Abergele Fitness Ltd in Conwy county, said it was the third arson attack on the premises in the past eight weeks.

The gym opened in January, and has more than 200 members.

He estimated that it caused about £20,000 worth of damage, but he said he hoped to be able to reopen for business ater in the week.

North Wales Fire and Rescue Service confirmed that the blaze was started deliberately.
