Actress Joanna Lumley has met Nepal's president as she continues her visit to the country. Nepal's prime minister has thanked visiting actress Joanna Lumley for helping get "justice" for British army Gurkha soldiers.
The presidential visit follows a triumphant arrival in Kathmandu where she was mobbed by hundreds of well-wishers and Gurkha veterans. Madhav Kumar Nepal said the Nepalese people were "rejoicing over what she has achieved".
Ms Lumley was greeted with garlands of flowers, colourful scarves and signs that described her as a "goddess".

As well as meeting President Ram Baran Yadav, the former Avengers star is also spending time with Prime Minister Madhav Kumar Nepal before addressing a meeting at the capital's city hall. She was greeted in Nepal with garlands of flowers, colourful scarves and signs describing her a "goddess".
'Chaos' As part of her tour, Ms Lumley was addressing an audience of Gurkha veterans at the capital Kathmandu's city hall.
She is also expected to meet President Ram Baran Yadav and will later travel around the country, including into the Himalayas, to meet more veterans.

Many of them were among hundreds of well-wishers who mobbed her at the airport, a reception she described as a "fairytale".
After meeting the former Absolutely Fabulous star, the prime minster said all Nepalese people recognised her achievements.
"I think the Gurkhas have got justice, whether complete or just to some extent I cannot see," he said.
