Second arrest over pavement death

A second man has been arrested after a pedestrian was hit and killed by a car on a footpath.

Antony Ames, 21, was one of several people struck by the car in Chester Road, Sutton Coldfield, West Midlands, during the early hours of Saturday.

He died of his injuries in hospital. A car was later found burned out in Kingstanding.

A man, 30, from Kingstanding has been arrested on suspicion of murder. A man, 33, from Erdington is also in custody.

The 33-year-old was arrested on Saturday.
