The trial of a woman accused of killing her mother has been told that the only evidence which puts her in the role of the killer is that of her co-accused. A jury has been told that there is "no crown evidence" that a daughter attacked the mother she is accused of murdering.

Ms McMenamin said: "There was not one piece of crown evidence that actually has Lisa Brown attacking her mother or putting her at the spot where the assault may have taken place."

She went on: "Why on earth, if she wanted her son back, would she act in such a way which would guarantee that she, not only, wouldn't get custody of the child, but also wouldn't get to keep the baby she was carrying at the time?"
The QC then spoke about Mr Wilson and his claims that Lisa Brown was the killer.
She said: "Anne Brown dies on the one occasion when John Wilson visited her property.
"The only evidence that has Lisa Brown as the killer is from the consummate liar that is John Wilson."
She said Mr Wilson was as "cool as a summer breeze" in the witness box and was the sort of person who would have "faced the devil".

Mr Duguid then questioned that if Mr Wilson did murder Anne Brown then why did her daughter not report him to the police.
The advocate said: "She did not because she killed her mum, just as John Wilson told you."
