Two men charged with fire murders

Two men have been charged with the murders of two sisters who were killed in a suspected arson attack on their south London home.

Maleha Masud, 15, died four days after the fire in Lessingham Avenue, Tooting, in the early hours of 21 June. Older sister Nabiha, 21, died on 25 July.

Waiters Rasal Khan, 18, from Leicester, and Shihabuddin Choudhury, 20, from Nottingham, face murder charges.

The two men also face three counts of attempted murder.

Mother Rubina Masud, 54, brothers Zain, 22, and Junaid, 17, were also present in the home during the fatal fire.

Junaid, aged 17, remains in hospital in a critical but stable condition, while Zain, 22, was discharged from hospital more than a month after the fire.

Mr Khan, from Earl Howe Street, and Mr Choudhury, from Coventry Road in Beeston, will appear at Greenwich Magistrates' Court on Monday.

A 14-year-old boy from south London has also been charged with Maleha's murder. He also faces four counts of attempted murder.

He will appear at the Old Bailey on 17 September.
