Body of woman is found in vehicle Murder inquiry over 'stinger' car

A man has been arrested after a woman's body was found in a vehicle which police had stopped. Police have launched a murder investigation after the body of a girl of 17 was found in a car stopped by officers with a stinger device.
Dyfed-Powys Police closed the A487 between Aberaeron and Aberarth in Ceredigion following the discovery. The girl, whom police say is Chanelle Sasha Jones from Cardigan, was found in a Ford Fiesta on the A487 between Aberaeron and Aberarth on Sunday night.
Officers said the road was likely to remain closed for much of the morning as the investigation continued. Officers said a man is under arrest and is currently in hospital.
Police said the inquiry was still in its early stages. The woman's next of kin have been informed. The teenager's mother paid tribute to her "beautiful daughter" whom she said had been through "so much" in her life.
A post mortem examination is yet to be carried out on Chanelle, who was reported missing on Sunday afternoon.
Formal identification of the body has yet to take place.

In a statement police said officers followed the Ford Fiesta after was found near Aberaeron on Sunday before a stinger was used to try to stop it.
After the stinger was used the Ford Fiesta pulled into a lay-by colliding with a stationary camper van whose occupants received minor injuries.
Dyfed-Powys Police said they are keen to speak to anyone who saw Chanelle between 0330 BST and 2215 BST on Sunday.
They also want to hear from anyone who may have seen a beige 03 plate Ford Fiesta which is believed to have been on the Haverfordwest to St Clears road, and in Lampeter, Poppit Sands and Gwbert-on-Sea on Sunday.
Forensic experts are still at the scene and a stretch of the A487 is likely to remain closed for most of the day. Diversions are in place.

Chanelle's mother Jayne Jones said:"She has been through so much in her short life and I was and we all are so proud of how she was turning her life around for the better and she now had so many ambitions.
"She was my lovely daughter who will be so sadly missed by her sister and two brothers and all her family and her boyfriend Brian.
"We all love you and miss you darling babe."
