A search, involving a police helicopter, a RNAS Culdrose helicopter, coastguards, a cliff rescue team, and the RNLI lifeboat began at 2200 BST. When the 37-year-old was eventually spotted on cliffs at Sennen Cove, he jumped into the sea and was picked up by the Sennen Cove lifeboats. He has been taken to the Royal Cornwall Hospital where he is under guard. A spokesman from Devon and Cornwall Police said the man had failed to answer bail at Preston Crown Court. It is understood that police in Blackburn were seriously concerned for his welfare. The man's condition is not known. |
