Police find 800 cannabis plants

Police have recovered 800 cannabis plants with an estimated street value of £242,000 from a house in North Lanarkshire.

The plants were found during a search of the property in Chryston at 1100 BST on Monday.

A spokesman for Strathclyde Police said a man had been arrested in connection with the discovery and was in police custody.

He is expected to appear at Airdrie Sheriff Court later.
