Speaking after the verdict, Dr Kamal's mother Nighat Kamal, 64, said the family was glad they could now move on. | |
"We've been going through a very, very trying time and we are now able to feel we can give her a decent burial after all that has been happening," she said. | |
She also paid tribute to her daughter. "She was a very gentle person and the irony is that her end should be so violent and so gruesome," she said. | |

Ms Kamal said her daughter moved to Dundee seven years ago and fell in love with the place. | |
With her voice breaking, she added: "The time was right for the fulfilment of the dreams she had for her family. She was on the threshold of fulfilment." | |
She thanked the prosecution and her daughter's colleagues at Ninewells Hospital for the support they have given to the family. | |
Khan will be sentenced on 31 August. |
