Investigation | |
The Independent Police Complaints Commission (IPCC) has announced it will investigate how Dyfed-Powys Police dealt with the report of Chanelle Jones as a possible missing person.
IPCC Commissioner for Wales Tom Davies said: "I would like to add my condolences to Sasha's family and friends for their tragic loss.
"We are arranging to meet her family to explain our role.
"The IPCC investigation will be carried out by our own investigators and they will be looking at whether the police response to the missing person report was proportionate and timely."
Mr Davies said investigators would also look at the force's missing person risk assessment and whether the police had any previous intelligence to take account of.
"The police murder investigation will take primacy at this stage and I would like to assure Sasha's family and the public that the IPCC will ensure that its investigation will not impede the Dyfed-Powys Police criminal investigation," he added
