The family member said close relatives had travelled to be at the soldier's bedside. Mr Edwards' uncle, Terry Renshaw, who lives in Flintshire, said: "My sister and Glen's two sisters and brother are at his side at the hospital.
"I am staying up here to be by the phone.
"I don't have all that much information other than that he was very seriously injured in a training incident in the Brecon Beacons around 6am yesterday.
"He's now in Morriston Hospital."
