The man, 25, was arrested on suspicion of murder after the body was found in fields near Gawcott, Buckinghamshire. A Thames Valley police spokeswoman refused to confirm whether the body was that of 67-year-old Sally Hingston, who went missing from her home on Thursday. Mrs Hingston was reported missing after she went out for a walk near Windbush Farm, between Gawcott and Tingewick. A search was started by police using a helicopter and horses after the disappearance. The body was found about two miles (3.2km) from the village of Gawcott, where Mrs Hingston lives. An extension to question the man was granted to police at midday. A bungalow backing onto the field where the body was found was sealed off as a forensic examination took place. A post mortem examination has taken place and police said the body was due to be formally identified on Sunday. |
