Tributes have been paid to an angler who was swept away while fishing on the River Tay in Perth and Kinross.

David Hentges' body was recovered from the Tay on Friday, a week after he was swept downstream from the Kercock fishing beat, near Kinclaven.

The 36-year-old father-of-two from the Netherwood Park area of Livingston had been out with his father.

His family said the death of "a loving and wonderful man" had left a huge hole in their lives.

In a statement they said: "David was torn from us in a terrible accident and he has left a huge hole that can never be filled.

"He will be very sadly missed by everyone who knew him, especially his daughter Robyn, 7, and son Ryan, 3, wife Susan, mum Mary, dad Paul, granny, brothers Ian and Scott, sister Leighann and the rest of his large family.

"Everyone feels very proud and privileged to have met David and he will never be forgotten.

"His legacy lives on in his fantastic children and in our hearts."
