Version 0 of 1.

Police have released a CCTV image of a car used in an £80,000 cash machine raid in southern Scotland.

A gang of at least five people struck the the Co-op in Moffat, in Dumfries and Galloway, on 10 August.

It happened just a few hours after a similar raid on another Co-op in the Tweedbank area of Berwick.

Police have now released an image of a green Jaguar - registration number EMS 10 - which was stolen from the Southport area and used in the theft.

The vehicle was recovered after having been set on fire a short distance away from the Co-op premises.

'Prior reconnaissance'

Police have also confirmed they are continuing to investigate links between the two cross-border raids.

Det Insp Gary Coupland said there had been sightings of the Jaguar travelling towards Moffat via Kelso and Selkirk.

Police are particularly keen to hear from anyone who may have seen the car after its theft in Southport on 11 July this year.

They believe there was "prior reconnaissance" of both supermarkets and the route between Berwick and Moffat.

Anyone who saw suspicious activities near the stores or on the roads between the two towns has been urged to get in touch.
