A second man has died following a mid-air collision between two paragliders in Shropshire.

Dennis Wray, 66, from Otley, West Yorkshire, died in hospital earlier this week, West Mercia Police said.

Mr Wray suffered internal injuries and leg fractures in the collision on the Long Mynd on 8 August.

The other paraglider, Stephen Allen, 49, of Llantwit Major, Vale of Glamorgan, Wales, was pronounced dead on arrival at hospital after the crash.

Both men were airlifted to Birmingham's Selly Oak Hospital following the collision.

A post-mortem examination was expected to take place on Thursday morning and an inquest would be opened in due course, a spokeswoman for the force added.
