Murder charge over body in carpet IPCC look at body in carpet case

A 40-year-old man has been charged with murder after a woman's body was found wrapped in a carpet on wasteland. The murder of a woman whose body was found wrapped in carpet has been referred to the Independent Police Complaints Commission (IPCC).
Bobbie Stokoe, 23, was found on Wednesday by two men in undergrowth near Beeches Road, Trevethin, Pontypool, Torfaen. Gwent Police said Bobbie Stokoe, 23, had been reported missing and its officers had been trying to find her.
Neighbours said she lived in a flat nearby. She was found dead at wasteland at Trevethin, Pontypool on Wednesday.
Gwent Police said the man will appear at Caerphilly Magistrates' Court on Friday morning. He remains in police custody. A man, 40, has been charged with her murder and will appear at Caerphilly Magistrates' Court on Friday morning. The IPCC is assessing the situation.
The force's major incident team has led the investigation. Neighbours said Ms Stokoe lived in a flat near where her body was found by two men in undergrowth near Beeches Road.
The IPCC, which was called in by Gwent Police, said it is currently assessing the situation and will make a statement later about what it is going to do.
The arrested man remains in police custody.
